Does anybody know that lady?
KENNT JEMAND DIESE DAME?

Well, it wasn't easy to get a clear shot of her... they secured her very well, indeed...
MAN KONNTE ABER KAUM AN SIE HERANKOMMEN...

I've tried to take a lot of pictures, just to have some artistic inspiration myself...
iCH HABE VERUCHT, VIELE BILDER ZU MACHEN...

but unfortunately my camera didn't feel the same way as I did about the challenge.
MEHR ALS KÜNSTLERISCHE INSPIRATION FÜR MICH SELBST...

first both batterries were flat, then the mobile phone wouldn't adjust to the bad light conditions...
ALS ALS ETWAS, DAS MAN VERÖFFENTLICHEN KANN...

So these pics are noting to bragg about, they're just vague memories
DENN ERST WAREN DIE BATTERIEN DER KAMERA FLACH...

which do however offer some inspiration.
DANN WOLLTE DAS HANDY SICH NICHT DEN LICHTVERHÄLTNISSEN ANPASSEN...

The section of the Louvre showing historic italian paintings etc. was most popular
THE ABTEILUNG MIT DEN GEMÄLDWEN WAR AM BELIEBTESTEN.

KENNT JEMANDEN DIESEN HEINI DA UNTEN?

Anybody know that chap crossing the alps? Mind you, my friend's great great great grandfather did beat the s/¤t out of him, when he tried the same stunt in his country and is still remembered as a national hero in his country these days...
Her family always said, that she was just an annoying as he was and I think they were right!
NUN, ER IST GERADE DABEI, DIE ALPEN ZU ÜBERQUEREN...

I had been asked to do a bit painting for a local costumer more than two years ago. still haven't gotten my nerve up to do this, because it's sooo big. Seeing the size of that painting makes me realize that I really got my priorities all wrong and really I don't have a problem at all! how on earth does one paint a painting like that?! And no canvas creased, no flaws in the art-work, everything just beautiful and harmoniously... wow!
MAN STELLE SICH VOR,L EIN SOOO GROSSES GEMÄLDE ZU MALEN...

And here we have a close-up of the crowning ceremony!
UND HIER DIE KRÖNUNG ALS AUSSCHNITT.

I don't only admire the beautiful artistic abilities of the artists, I also love the frames. many of them are just as much a piece of art!
SELBST DIE RAHMEN WAREN IN DER REGEL EIN KUNSTWERK!

Mind you, the building itself is perhaps even more worth a visit than the paintings!
UND DIE DECKENGEMÄLDE UND WANDMALEREIEN!

Desperately trying to get a picture of the displayed glas-items...
DIESE ANTIKEN GLAS-GEGENSTÄNDE WIRKTEN WUNDERBAR

I just love the beautiful ceilings and have been wondering for a while if I should add murals to to the walls of our farm...
IN DEM APOLLOSAAL, DOCH LEIDER WAR DAS LICHT SO SCHLECHT.

And I thought, I had a problem, repairing our ceilings... isn't this just beautiful, with all those details?!
MAN STELLE SICH VOR, ALL DIESEN STUCK ZU FORMEN...!

there was also an egypt section...
ÄGYPTISCHE GEGENSTÄNDE WAREN AUCH VERTRETEN.

Mark especially was very attracted to the artifacts, jewellery and other items exhibited there...
MEIN SOHN WAR BESONDERS VON IHNEN ANGETAN.

The greek section made me feel a little less comfortable...
DER GRIECHISCHE TEIL WAR ZWAR AUCH INTERESSANT,

The boys stood in front of them, admiring the craftmenship, I suppose. It's different for me, I get a vision of different battle scenes, the smell and the taste of blood... and my stomach is at the verge of turning... it's all too real for me!
ABER GAB MIR EHER UNBEHAGEN. SOLCHE RÜSTUNGEN UND DEREN ANWENDUNG SIND MIR DOCH ETWAS ZU REAL...!

Here the ceiling of one of the stairs leading down from one broad hallway to another...
HIER NOCH EINE WUNDERVOLLE STUCKDECKE DIE EINFACH NUR DIE GÄNGE UND TREPPEN SCHMÜCKTE...

Naturally when you're in the Louvre, you also wanna see the statues...
NATÜRLICH GEHT MAN AUCH DER STUREN WEGEN IN DEN LOUVRE...

I know, this is not the best angle... but hey there were people standing all around this guy... oh sorry.. lady... and it was a little difficult to get a clear shot of anything!
NA JA, IST NICHT DER BESTE WINKEL...

Some were kind enough to keep their cloths on...
ABER WAS SOLL MAN MACHEN, WENN SO VIELE LEUTE RUMSTEHEN...

And well haven't we heard about guys like him in history lessons?
ÜBER SOLCHE KNABEN HATTEN WIR IM GESCHICHTSUNTERRICHT WAS GELERNT... HM, WAS WAR ES NOCH MAL? DA MUSS ICH WOHL DIE MASERN GEHABT HABEN...

Still amazed about the details... because I know, I don't do such a great job on sculptures at all, even though I used a much softer stone... I still am pretty lousy, I have to admid!
DIE DETAILS SIND WIRKLICH ATEMBERAUBEND, WENN MAN SICH SCHON MAL SELBST AUF DEM GEBIET VERSUCHT HAT...

My son askes me, if I really think that these are so beautiful, he's sick an tired of looking at naked bodies and wants to see the paintings
UND VIELLEICHT NICHT SO GANZ ERFOLGREICH WAR...

and what ever clues
DOCH MEIN SOHN WILL LIEBER SEHEN, WAS DAN BROWN

Dan Brown has used for

"The Da Vinci Code".
FÜR DEN "DA VINCI CODE" ALLES SO BENUTZT HAT...

When eventually leaving the Louvre
ALS WIR DEN LOUVRE LETZTENDLICH VERLASSEN...

we go through what seemes like an underground network of tunnels beneath the glas pyramids
GEHEN WIR DURCH EIN LABYRINTH VON TUNNELN, WIE ES SCHEINT...

just to end up on the north side of the complex.
DIE ARCHITEKTEN HABEN ALLES SPANNEND GEPLANT UND DIE AUSFÜHRUNG

Okay, it's all very exciting to see and the architects really made their point and also the lighting is great, but what gets to me is the security issue. What do you do when the place is on fire?
And why do they bother with all that staff and checking bags and that sort of thing, if they don't see what's there anyway?
IST VON ZEITLOSER SCHÖNHEIT UND AUCH DAS LICHT ALS INSTRUMENT GENUTZT, WAS ALLES TOLL IN SZENE SETZT, DOCH ETWAS MACHT MIR SORGEN: WAS MACHT MABN, WENN ES HIER BRENNT? UND WARUM WIMMELT ES HIER VON SICHERHEITSKRÄFTEN DIE ERSTEN KAUM GESCHAULT, ZWEITEN NICHT TRAINING UND DRITTENS SOWIESO BLIND SIND?!

A last look at the entrance hall, before entering the other tunnels that lead you outside
EIN LETZTER BLICK AUF DIE EINGANGSHALLE, BEVOR WIR IN DIE TUNNEL GEHEN, DIE UNS NACH DRAUSSEN FÜHREN...

to the night life of Paris on a warm spring evening!
UND SCHON BEFINDEN WIR UNS IN MITTEN DES PARISER LEBENS AN EINEM WARMEN FRÜHLINGSABEND!

Hôtel du Louvre in all its glory!
POMPÖSER KIANN ES NUN KAUM NOCH WERDEN!

Even the metro station is a work of art...
SOGAR DIE U-BAHN IST EIN KUNSTWERK!

Now we just have to make it to the rendevouz point... if our feet will carry us that far...
JETZT MÜSSEN WIR ES NUR NOCH ZUM VERABREDETEN TREFFPUNKT SCHAFFEN...

and IF my husband had been clear about his own position and had gotten his bearings straight before giving us the orders into which direction to proceed...
NUN JA, WAR NICHT GANZ SO EINFACH...

Oh well we saw a lot of Paris, enjoyed the atmosphere and the relaxed attitude that people seemed to have everywhere and the spirit of abundance and love... in Paris ... and yes, my husband and I kissed in the moon light, by the Seine... once I found him again. Until then I just had to make due with my little one... but he's used to all that kissing and cuddling and never complains, just puts on brave smile and cuddles everyone back... sweet isn't he?!
UND BEVOR ICH MEINEN MANN ENDLICH IM MONDLICHT AN DER SEINE KÜSSEN KONNTE, MUSSTE ICH MIT DEM ABKNUDDELN MEINES KLEINEN SOHNES VORLIEB NEHMEN... DENN WIR WAREN IMMERHIN IN PARIS UND IRGEND JEMAND MUSSTE SCHLIESSLICH GESCHMUST WERDEN, NICHT WAHR?!
